Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I should have been more clear... I need it to post and boot.
100% of the time - no exceptions.
The EVGA seems to be set up (and priced) for overclocking. But, if its the best out there and there will be continued support and not just an incremented part number I'm all for it.
Is the MSI...
Hey,
I've been out of the loop for awhile but I'm building a new computer for an engineer at work. Its upgrade time and while I would like to wait awhile before jumping aboard i7 the computer he is using now (BadAxe2, Duo 6600, 4gb DDR2) will NOT post anymore so its time.
After my recent...
Yea, I've been playing around with it some and found that maybe that is the best way to go.
The only problem is I can't exactly see the TV when at the pc so I kinda have to guess where video is. Not that big of a deal really, just a minor inconvenience.
I may look into UltraMon's quick...
This is something I think I should probably know the answer to but...
I have my pc hooked to the my hdtv over DVI and optical. If I download something, I usually just play it on the pc and watch on the tv.
The problem is that I have a 16:10 (1680x1050) monitor and 16:9 hdtv (1920x1080). I...
Agreed with everyone about 3.25Gb / needing a 64bit OS. I don't say XP x64 specifically b/c I will never install this OS on another PC.... Ever. I'm running it at work right now and its ok, but its never going to be great.
Ubuntu here I come!
Oh, and its not an issue of allocating, its...

I got my GSkill back from RMA (took me awhile to send it) and it turns out, that in fact, both my sticks went bad at the same time.
I don't think its GSkill's fault though. My P5B (read: POS) may have killed them. After the issues I...
64bit: will run 4Gb no problem
32bit: can't address more then 3.25Gb
I run XPx64 at work... in my opinion I would recommend 32bit if you are going with XP. If vista, well I don't even know if 64bit Vista is out, if it is thats probably fine since I bet they use the same drivers as v32bit...
Yawn.... Some of you kids....
ESD can cause damage... OF COURSE. But to get on and talk about how much energy a part can transfer or withstand in the absolutes I've just read here is retarded.
Every component is rated on its sensitivity to discharges. FETs (transistors and gates) are the...
Really?!? No one knows if the 8800GTS has better openGL performance then the V7300 ? Possible since ATI has had pretty poor openGL but then again GTS is more of a dX card,
Oh, right, openGL is used more for 'work' then games. Ah, thats why there isn't a flame war already.
That sounds like the 1.8V memory problem to me, look it up.
Its a problem where good (higher voltage) memory doesn't post the system b/c it doesn''t get the voltage it needs. The P5B has a SHIT POOR way of initializing the ram. Most people buy a crappy stick of 1.8v 512mb (no smaller!) and...
Hey,
Just wondering what everyone recommends for 3D CAD / OpenGL (solidworks, ProE, etc) if you have to choose between a:
X1900XT (which can be forced to run as a FireGL V7300)
or
an 8800GTS (which must run as a GTS)
Or hold out and wait for the R600 silliness. (Can spend $350ish)...
X3 on openbox from Newegg.
My P5B stopped posting with my ram and the PS2 port stopped working so I got an open box from newegg, to my surprise all the parts were there most in the bags.
I wouldn't be at all shocked if it didn't overclock all that well, but maybe the kid just didn't know...
I don't know...... Both sticks at the same time ????
I guess I could try to RMA it, I'll see if I can find another PC to try it in first.... I'd be pretty surprised if it was the ram.

ARRRRR. I hate this fucking board.
I've been running it since Nov with no problems at all. (400Mhz, 1:1, 3-4-4-4, 2.1V, etc) and all of a sudden it stops posting. Nada. No matter what I do it will NOT post, no beeps. So, like the good little...
