Many similar projects have omitted front i/o, likely for asthetics, cost, or volume constrains.
I would be very pleased with 1 or 2 USB-C ports... or a modular option like we’ve seen on other projects here (but prettier ;) ).
First thing that came to mind was something of a lowjacking device, but I wouldn't hedge my bets on it. That is certainly interesting... I wonder if there is a way to kill the blue (epoxy?) and expose the circuitry further.

I have done this with a number of keyboards at work... some with screws in the back did not like that too much and developed a lot of rust, moreover some keyboards developed discolorations or come back with a lot of nasty residue (no jet dry used and probably the cheapest soap variant was used)...
