ASUS Z87 Motherboards - Overview, Guides and Official Support

Question for anyone, is there any way to check volts on the Z87-pro board? I know there are no "points" but is there a way?

    Intel Z97, what's the point?

    Still there for the Pro Core i7-4790K (4.0Ghz, 4C, HT, L3:8M, HD Graphic, 88W, rev.C0) ALL 2003

ASUS Z97 Motherboards - Official Support Thread

Really wish there was a simple explanation same as Z78. Anyhow, question for Z97. Hero I believe comes with M2 PCIe connector? If I were to connect this to the PCIe3 x4, will this drop my GPU to x8 or will it remain x16? Do they share bandwidth?

ASUS Z97 Motherboards - Official Support Thread

Doubt that, hence my query. Secondly, we're not talking VID here. That's what you set in BIOS and vcore is what your cores are actually using. ie: running Adaptive on a Z87 is completely useless unless you can show otherwise.

ASUS Z97 Motherboards - Official Support Thread

Curious about this as mentioned, on the Z87 boards you simply used Manual and used C states which allowed all the downclock/volt needed. Adaptive is a useless mode on the Z87 boards. So Z97 boards don't behave this way anymore?

GIGABYTE 9 Series Overclocking Motherboards Set 9 World Records

I don't know why everyone posts this, the people who did it are sponsored by Giga so this is pure marketing, nothing more. Every post related to this is free marketing. No other manufacturer have pulled their OCers in and said, go crazy for 7 days and beat some old benchmarks.

ASUS Z87 Motherboards - Overview, Guides and Official Support

If you're not finding conflicting information you're not visiting enough forums. Everyone has a different opinion. Some base it on what you've stated others see it as I believe (hope) is the case. Or rather maybe if you know, why wouldn't they work? Either way, I'm waiting for Raja to advise...

ASUS Z87 Motherboards - Overview, Guides and Official Support

There's so much conflicting information out there.. Raja, could you advise if the up-coming Haswell Refresh (the K series/sku whatever) works on our Z87 boards? From the BIOS: Support New 4th-Generation Intel Core Processors Hoping you know either way and lay rest to the confusion?

questions for Asus Z87 pro, Hero, and Sabertooth

I REALLY wish Fan Xpert was a separate product with no need for AI SUITE itself.

questions for Asus Z87 pro, Hero, and Sabertooth

You need someone with Hero to help you more. On your first post you said 40%. On my board you can only set it to 60% to 100% if you want to manually set a % value. Silent on the other hand is less than that 60%. ROG boards don't have anything clocked higher by default, well it'd be news to...

questions for Asus Z87 pro, Hero, and Sabertooth

Grab the hero, set fans to Silent in BIOS and buy good, silent fans. Problem solved... I don't use AI SUITE and am satisfied with the noise the Silent mode gives.

questions for Asus Z87 pro, Hero, and Sabertooth

On my board the min % is 60%. However, I don't run in manual mode. Instead I have it on Silent. When I compare the fan-speed between Silent and manual 60%.. Silent is way less. It'll of course depend on your fans but for reference my differences were 1300 (60%) vs. 1160 (Silent). I...

Tools to flash and recover BIOS on ASUS P8xxx boards (FD44Editor, FTK)

Thanks I did find this post. http://www.win-raid.com/t171f39-Intel-Management-Engine-Drivers-Firmware-and-Tools-14.html#msg5216 Doesn't go into details beyond mentioning FTK but supposedly he was able to remove the lock. He appears to have Q87. Update: removed header from a BIOS file...

Tools to flash and recover BIOS on ASUS P8xxx boards (FD44Editor, FTK)

Guys, is the ME protected on the Haswell boards (see sig)? Small problem. The ME firmware 9.1.1 and 9.1.2 force BCLK to 99.8 and it won't change. Minor annoyance as I don't use it but it's a problem. Obviously cannot roll back to 9.0.x using the update tool so figured I'll use FTK...
