Question for anyone, is there any way to check volts on the Z87-pro board? I know there are no "points" but is there a way?

Really wish there was a simple explanation same as Z78. Anyhow, question for Z97. Hero I believe comes with M2 PCIe connector? If I were to connect this to the PCIe3 x4, will this drop my GPU to x8 or will it remain x16? Do they share bandwidth?

Doubt that, hence my query. Secondly, we're not talking VID here. That's what you set in BIOS and vcore is what your cores are actually using. ie: running Adaptive on a Z87 is completely useless unless you can show otherwise.

Curious about this as mentioned, on the Z87 boards you simply used Manual and used C states which allowed all the downclock/volt needed. Adaptive is a useless mode on the Z87 boards. So Z97 boards don't behave this way anymore?

I don't know why everyone posts this, the people who did it are sponsored by Giga so this is pure marketing, nothing more. Every post related to this is free marketing. No other manufacturer have pulled their OCers in and said, go crazy for 7 days and beat some old benchmarks.

If you're not finding conflicting information you're not visiting enough forums. Everyone has a different opinion. Some base it on what you've stated others see it as I believe (hope) is the case. Or rather maybe if you know, why wouldn't they work? Either way, I'm waiting for Raja to advise...

You need someone with Hero to help you more. On your first post you said 40%. On my board you can only set it to 60% to 100% if you want to manually set a % value. Silent on the other hand is less than that 60%. ROG boards don't have anything clocked higher by default, well it'd be news to...

Grab the hero, set fans to Silent in BIOS and buy good, silent fans. Problem solved... I don't use AI SUITE and am satisfied with the noise the Silent mode gives.

As you can't get to your computer or it's BIOS, you need to do the USB flashback. For that to work, you need it to recognise the file name. For Z87 Pro you need the file to be named: Z87P.CAP Read the manual for the process, once it's close to completion the LED blinks faster and once it...

Also both ROM and the files for RST 13.x are out so you could try updating to those also, see if that solves your problems. 1707 BIOS doesn't use 13.x OROM.

Try the latest BIOS update that's out, it doesn't tell us anything worthwhile in the release notes but that's usual. Really wish they'd fix that part.

You can only uninstall the GUI but that won't help, you're still left with the driver. You can use the older driver/GUI 12.0.x something, I didn't have this problem with that but starting 12.5.x it appears.

With your HDDs spinning up and down during shut-down, that's because of the RST driver (not the GUI). If you're using version 12.0.x you're fine, I bet you won't see that behaviour anymore but that's over 11 months old now so who'd use that. Anything newer, for example 12.5 onwards will have...
