Two servers walk into a network...

I have a question that I am trying to understand and I'm hoping somebody here can help me out. I have two servers, one is on site the other is in a remote location connected via a private bonded T1. The server on-site and remote are on their own domain and communicate to each other via the T1...

Engineers Turn Robot Arm into F1 Simulator

Sweet setup, but if they're using rFactor why didn't they just download one of the car mods instead of trying to model their own. No gears should be enough to tell you they did a pretty bad job modeling a F1 car, but I guess for a demo its good enough.

Official NV 256 Beta Drivers Released.

These drivers a definite must have, especially if your running a Fermi card. Saw a substantial increase in BFBC2 performance. With the 197.55 I was running 1920x1200 32xCSAA, 16x AF, High, HBAO On with 2x TSAA, with the 257.15 drivers I was able to push my TSAA to 4x. Also saw almost an 80 point...

New Card for the WoW Player

EVGA X58 Forums has some pretty good guides in their sticky section. They apply to their boards, but it can be easily translated to other boards. I found the voltage sticky pretty helpful in helping me push my i7 930 to 4.2GHz. Most D0 cores can hit 4GHz pretty easily.

New Card for the WoW Player

Actually, I believe nVidia added "enhanced SLI support for WoW" in one of their 197 driver iterations. That being said, MSI Afterburner shows both my GPUs being loaded while playing WoW, though only at about 30% to 40%.

New Card for the WoW Player

Running in full screen mode at 19x12, but I have every setting set to max. WoW runs smooth for the most part, but I do get the occasional dip in frame rate, nothing major though. I do find it odd that my GTX480s don't even ramp up to full 3D speed when running WoW or even utilize the full power...

New Card for the WoW Player

I'm sure it does, as I hear the fans on my GPUs start to ramp up slightly when I'm in a raid, but no where near the fan speed/noise I hear when I'm playing other games like BFBC2. Probably never noticed it before as this is the first build in a while where I haven't WCed my GPUs, but my ears...

New Card for the WoW Player

If it means anything, I noticed that according to MSI Afterburner WoW doesnt barely breaks 25% GPU usage on my setup for both cards even though I sometimes get slowdowns. I find it funny too that my cards don't even see it fit to scale up to full core/mem speed when running WoW.

Documenting my GTX 480 SLI issues

Driver uninstall didn't work for me. There seems to be a conflict between the Realtek NIC drivers on Windows Update and nVidia's drivers. Not sure about the other drivers, but for the 197.55 drivers SLI didn't work until I reverted the NIC drivers back to the original drivers that installed with...

Question on WoW Cataclysm, how much will change ?

It's going to be the same recycled mechanics again. I took a break a little after ToGC came out, came back to see what ICC was about. It was fun the first time through, but after that it became a borefest. I really can't see me doing the hardcore farming like I did during my BT days. I'll...

    i7 930 overclocking thread

From what I've seen these i7s run pretty hot, a lot hotter than the C2D in my previous system. The magic number for these chips are 85C under full load. If you can keep it under 85C you should be fine for 24/7 use.

Documenting my GTX 480 SLI issues

The NIC drivers from EVGA's website works fine. I had similar issues when I used the drivers found on Windows Update.

    i7 930 overclocking thread

Here's mine for the database. Notice most everybody got a "A" batch 930, mine has a "B" in its Batch #. User Name: Enigma422 CPU: i7 930 FPO/Batch #: 3938B269 Store: ZipZoomFly Purchased In: April 2010 OC: 4200 MHz (200 MHz x 21) Stability: LinX 50 Stable Temp (Idle / Load): 34C (Coolest...

Silencer 750 Quad enough to run 2x 480 gtx?

My PCP&P Silencer 750 Quad has been my workhorse for the past 3 years, but moving to a 480GTX system you're definitely going to want more. Better safe than sorry, especially considering how much you'll be throwing down for a pair of 480s.

    Modular Connections HX1000W SLI

I have a side question for anybody running an eVGA Classy board, SLI, and the HX1000W. Do you guys bother with the 2nd ATX12V connector and if you do how do you set up your rails? Thanks again.
