Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if I am experiencing normal behavior from my system. I currently have an 8700k with an Asus z370 prime and am seeing the CPU fluctuate in speed quite a lot. That is, its constantly bouncing up and down between idle clocks and full boost (attached image).
I...
Attached is what greeted me when I took off the IHS.
I took all the paste off the die and the IHS and scraped off the silicone sealant as much as I could. I ended up putting some MX4 I had on the die then plugging into my mobo and having the socket hold down the IHS.
The CPU is now running at...
So I reapplied thermal paste, reseated the cooler and the CPU is fine running at 4.6 w/ 1.28v.
Ran Aida64 again. The CPU still spikes up to 100C. I even set the pump and fans to 100% and it still goes up to 100C.
Could it be the de-lid job (from the guy i bought it from) was botched? Like I...
Hi everyone, I picked up a used 4790K today and put it under my evga CLC280. Its idling around 29C which is absolutely normal, but then when I run AIDA64, the CPU will spike to 100C! The max voltage goes up to 1.35V @ 4.6ghz OC.
I also found out this CPU was de-lidded and the guy applied...
Oh I sure hope so! Competition is good! If AMD CPUs will be genuinely faster than Intel, then we can go back to the days of the athlon 64 and athlon x2. It took a while for Intel to catch up then...
BF5 is running on the same engine as BF1. There shouldn’t be this large a discrepancy between the two titles for performance. I’m not buying these benches.
Kind of sitting in the same boat. Next year I will definitely upgrade, but to why? Still not sure.
If the 9th gen doesn’t provide a large enough boost in performance over 8th, then may get 8th gen off the used market.
Well my hope is that 1080ti drops down to around $400 used but more realistically, probably closer to $500.
I also think that current gens will go out of stock quickly once the new RTX roll around. Will be snatched up by miners during the discounted phase post launch.
This is where there is conflicting info on HT. Some say that it doesn’t do much, while others say that it benefits a whole heap of a lot. I always thought that games typically favor per core performance rather than HT.
I will also throw in my 2cents for the beQuiet! Silent wings. I replaced all my fans in the case with these and they are Dan bear silent. I can’t hear a thing. Plus, my temps are acceptable to me given how quiet they are.
