Dell XPS M1710 Overheating - Did I Get a Lemon?

First, you own a laptop, the heatsinks are TINY and therefor easily clogged. I blow mine out once every week. A can of compressed air will work wonders. Once every month or so - I open it up - clean out any thick clogs I can find and put it all back together. Your proc is fine, your GPU is fine...

advice needed on Dell vertical line problem

I would contact Dell again, explain the issue, when they tell you it's not covered - DEMAND A SUPERVISOR - you have email data proof of when the claim was origionally filed and you have digital proof that the screen is covered under the replacement plan. They have to - BY LAW - replace your...

    I just got a Alienware :P

FYI - I use Vista Ultimate 64. No problems. It's actually less problematic than 32 bit Vista. Sure - XP-64 had problems, Vista - 64 does not. IMHO - it actually runs better. You have full use of all of your ram...not just 3 gigs. I understand that you're onlying using 2 right now - but trust me...

As for build quality - It doesn't feel flimsy or anything, the only part that isn't SUPER TIGHT is the battery -...

    Dell XPS M1210

Rad. I want to find a 9 cell battery for it instead of the 6 that it has. Also do you know if I can throw on the Accidental Protection Plan? I would like to pay Dell for another 2 years on it. It still has a little under 1 year left on the current warranty.
