At work, we have machines that are supposed to be in their own walled garden for testing. We don't connect those computers to the internet, so no matter how bad things go, nothing bad happens. This is one of the reasons I'm against AI as much...

Data centers are not closed loop. The loops going to the actually gear might be but all the cooling towers are open to evaporate the heat and that's probably 99% of the water usage for any type of chiller system.

100%. Their ability to produce cheap semis at scale in a down market will truly be the disruption, not small scale in a gold rush. By 2030 the market might start really feeling the effects of this as capacity ramps.

We have ZERO nuclear power plants physically being constructed in the US. There are plenty of anti-nuclear people still. Average age of nuclear power plant in US: 44 years. Average age of nuclear power plant in China: 11 years.

'Leased' data center. Wondering what the terms of the lease are? OpenAI didn't qualify for credit since they haven't turned a profit which is why they are in talks with nVidia. Recirculation money only backed by credit. Precarious situation indeed.
