XPS Gen 3 Boot Drive Not Found - WD Caviar Black 1TB - Dual Boot

I have a problem with my XPS Gen 3 boot drive. I have a year old WD Caviar Black 1TB drive which has been partitioned to dual boot Windows XP and Windows 7. Over the past few months, when I boot the PC, there is an error message stating boot drive not found. It takes a couple of tries before...

XPS Gen 3 doesn't power up after lightning storm

I bought a new 460W PSU. The seller sent a new 650W (by mistake?). PC powered up and is working fine. I heard today that Dell PSUs, when on their last legs, will die with a minimal surge.

XPS Gen 3 doesn't power up after lightning storm

Well, still no reply on the Dell forum. I've decided to go with a 650w PSU. I can't find any new, only refurbished. How would the performance and reliability be on a refurbished PSU?

XPS Gen 3 doesn't power up after lightning storm

It is plugged into an APC power bar. My modem, router and monitor are also plugged into the power bar and work fine. I'll plug it directly into the wall and post what happens. If I do have to swap out the PSU, can I replace it with a 650W Gen 6 PSU or do I have to stick with the original 460W?

XPS Gen 3 doesn't power up after lightning storm

I unplugged it and held the power for 15 sec and nothing happened. Should I replace the PSU or could it be another problem?

XPS Gen 3 doesn't power up after lightning storm

Monday night lightning struck a tree next to my house and tripped the fuses. My XPS was on and connected to an APC surge supressor when the power went out. Now it won't power up. The monitor, modem and router were all connected to the APC and work fine. Could my power supply have died? I...

Check my HijackThis log. My operating system is Windows XP SP2

My problem is pop-ups. I have used Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta, Ad-Aware SE, Spyware Sweeper 3.5, Spyware Doctor 3.2, Spybot 1.3 and Earthlink's Spy Audit. None of these were able to stop the pop-ups. I have set Norton Internet Security 2005 to block pop-ups and have done the same for...

    Dell 1905FP Flickering

I tried both DVI and VGA inputs... same issue. I also saw it with both cables unplugged with the diagnostics.

    Dell 1905FP Flickering

Maybe it's the backlight. I noticed the colours were slightly washed out on the bottom left corner. I'm not sure about the signal... don't know how to test. I'm using the DVI cable that came with the monitor.

    Dell 1905FP Flickering

Has anyone using one of the new Dell monitors experienced this problem before? According to their tech support, I am the first to report this problem.

    Dell 1905FP Flickering

I connected the VGA and got the same results. I also tried selecting Reduce DVI on high-resolution displays... there was no change. I can still see the flickering. I contacted Dell support and they're sending a new replacement. Hopefully it will work better than this one.

    Dell 1905FP Flickering

I got a new the 1905FP (not refurbished), installed the drivers and am noticing a subtle flickering. I have it connected to the DVI-D. I've set the background to different colours and noticed that the flickering is more noticable when set to red. I am using Win XP Pro, 128MB ATI X800 SE card...
