Haha, yeah, something was definitely wrong with my old S12, that thing was perfect, no coil whine, and still works to this day.
It's a shame Seasonic is going downhill, I really love my older Seasonic PSU's.
Got one from this firesale, and it had massive coil whine and the fan spins up to full speed every minute or so for about 3 seconds for no reason regardless of the load.
From the coil whine complaints, there's a reason this PSU has been discounted so much.

Play BF3 on the PC with jaw dropping Ultra settings with 60FPS minimum, getting pwnd by clans with FIOS connections and having teammates I can't talk to and they all drive/fly away by themselves without helping out with so much as a short ride, or ammo, or health, etc.
Or play BF3 on the XBox...
Battlelog is fine, but it's an unnecessary delay between browsing for games, and then launching the game. Much slower to switch servers than having an In-Game browser.
Might have to get the XBox 360 version so I can make myself feel better raping console players there. [H]ardcore PC Gamers are a lot more skilled on BF3 as far as I've seen thus far. Ouch. My ass. It hurts.....seriously...

How are the slower Gentle Typhoons compared to the discontinued S-Flex's? I really hate that Scythe discontinued them, despite how crappy they worked / sounded as intake fans with any grill obstructions.
