    Try using a Linux Live CD like knoppix and see if you can at least see the data on the drive.

    Drive Speed

    Just got the new Emachine Althon 64 laptop. Runs BF1942 great...but the drive sure is slow loading. Would it run ok to pickup an external USB 2.0 Drive and install the game on that ? or would Firewire be better?
