Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
It's all good. :)
And I watched newegg's part 3 of how to build a computer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxaVBsXEiok&feature=plcp) so I think I got it as far as that goes.
So I guess my only question would be if I need to buy thermal compound or not?
Edit: actually, seems like newer intel...
I got all the parts and just finished putting everything together. I'll be getting win 7 64 bit home premium later today. I just need help with how to set everything up. Like drivers, setting up the BIOS, etc. Basically just what's the next step after putting it together physically?

My case has a 2.5" drive bay, as well as a 2.5 to 3.5" converter, so that's not an issue. I just meant what wires would I need. Could you possibly link the cable/s I need?
Edit: Also not sure if it matters, but this my psu...
Right now newegg has a 500g solid state hybrid for $50, but it's a bare drive.

Sorry, the $500-650 is after tax.
And yeah, I generally avoid frys like the plague on bf, but if I could score any good deals, I think it's worth the chaos.
I was going to try out linux, then if I don't like it, buy win 7.
I've never used linux before though, no. So also never used Wine.
And...
@Danny Bui: I think the IB is worth the extra money. it's only $10 more, so yeah. I'm still going to wait a little longer though for fry's and newegg's black friday ads to come out before I buy anything. A few weeks ago frys had an i5 3570k + 8gigs 1600mhz ddr3 for $180, but I missed the sale...
Hi, I've never actually built my own computer, but I've always wanted to. I figured since mine's getting a bit dated, it was about time to upgrade. And with black friday around the corner, what better time than now?
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc...
