Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hmmm...just noticed that it's show up as SATA 1.5 gbps as well, while my other drives are SATA 3.0 gbps. The drive in question should be 3.0 gbps and I didn't see any jumper on it.

And everything works, save for the hot swappable ability. When I plug the HD into the dock, Windows sees it as a permanent drive and doesn't display the "Safely Remove" icon in the system tray. I can...
Whether it spreads is virus specific, although most will target the Windows drive.
Movies and music are considered data (as opposed to programs), so the chance of getting a virus from an mp3 or avi is incredibly small. To give you an idea of why this is, imagine downloading virus.exe, then...
You won't need DX10 to play Crysis, it's just that DX9 mode won't have all the eye candy.
But then again, it's not like an 8600GT will be able to run it on high settings. The setup your talking about will probably run it on low-medium settings.
Yeah, 3rd party defraggers have never produced a tangible benefit for me.
If you want increased disk performance, buy a faster hard drive or buy a 2nd one and RAID them.
Probably the best thing to do with OEM installations is install the minimum required to activate it (i.e. just network drivers), activate, then immediately image the partition. I can't confirm this from experience, but it seems like a good way to start over without having to reactivate...
I think DFI is very overrated. Yes, they let you tweak more than other brands, but often it's a battle just to achieve stability and their BIOS's have never inspired confidence.
A+ is such a simple cert that I doubt anyone will ask for the certificate, although they may be more likely to do so if you don't have prior experience, which of course would take precedence over a stupid multiple choice quiz.
I'd say quite the opposite. XP can do everything Vista can from a productivity standpoint, but Vista is better for gaming because it's the only way to run games in DX10.
Now the 8500GT is far to weak to really take advantage of DX10, but going forward, the point stands.
Yeah, really any imaging program can do this. Basically you'll boot from a CD, then specify the partition you want to back up, then pick the location for it to be stored.
At work we use Ghost via BartPE, although I prefer Acronis and it's what I use at home. Either one will create an...
