thanks. im going to be keeping all of them. ive decided to not use all of the drives in a single array, and only raid up 4 of them. i have alot of data on some other hard drives and will be filling these ssds up quickly.
the most affordable way to raid 1? buy a second harddrive identical to your main one and set up raid 1. you dont need an external server. since your computer is on always anyways why not just set up file sharing?
engineering samples are pretty safe, but there have been cases where people have gotten some ES that were of lower quality than production models. be careful. also, only buy an ES if you never plan to sell it
for intel, there is no need to update firmware as it is stable anyways. props for buying an intel. just plug it in and install. ur gonna love ur new ssd
yeah asus tends to be picky in terms of their sata interface. my old crosshair iv (the amd equivalent of the maximus) didnt work with certain drives either
