    Source seems to have a problem with the FX cards and the newest drivers. Rolling back your drivers to older ones should fix the problem. EDIT: Opps, didn't see that you tried 3 different drivers.

    The checkerboard problem only occurs if a change is made in the advanced video options. Changes such as, anti-aliasing, vertical sync, and maybe even water relflections, are the only options that cause them. And the fix? Simple, make those changes and restart the game.

    I also get the same message and I have a BFG 6600gt OC. I'm running Windows XP and have tried the latest drivers as well as the latest beta drivers and it still says the same thing. I have no idea what it means, but the game runs perfect, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.
