I finally got my striker extreme up and working after about a week dealing with the CPU INIT issue. It was working fine for about 2 weeks then every once in awhile it wouldnt boot up at all when I hit the power button.. IF i kept trying it would eventually post. Its gotten to the point now...
the cards are a bit off.. I think I may know what it is now. In the screw bag it came with some black plastic pieces and my guess is they fit over the standers.
I bought a Thermaltake Armor Series VA8000BWS Black Aluminum / Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case.. The one on newegg that had all the good reviews. When I finally screwed in all the standers and put the mobo it was sitting too low for my pci slots and for the slots on the back... any idea what...
I ended up picking the thermaltake case that had all the good reviews on newegg. When I got this home and screwed in the standers and motherboard it was still sitting to low for my pci slots and for the slots on the back... anyone else encounter this issue? I am using an Asus Striker Extreme Mobo
yea this one turned out to be my fault not the board... It wasn't starting because i mounted it into the case at first. Once I got the standoffs in it fired up like a champ. Thanks for everyones help!
hmm now that I think about it... I didn't actually install the screw things that raise the motherboard off the case... I just screwed it right into the case. This is going to cause a problem i guess?
currently in case.. Im gonna actually lend it to a buddy for the weekend who is running an identical system cept for the CPU and case. Hopefully so we can narrow down the issue or find out that I was jsut dumb when I was connecting it :p
LED light is in the off position but they still blink which I dont think is normal... I tried all the tips and tricks such as leaving the cmos battery out for a day the one stick of ram thing as well. The power button on the front doesnt even light up when I press it.
tried turning the led lights off when I got home.. the only thing that happened was they would all blink instead... I still get no power no fans. I dont have any low voltage ram available to test
