The OSD menu option is just a fan speed test. The fan runs automatically during normal operation. Here is pg 89 of the manual:

Contrast setting might have something to do with preference of 400 over 1000 in addition to room brightness, with higher contrast, I believe the ABL is more noticeable.

Not sure what happened but the fan breathing / ramp up bug has gone away for the past day. I wasn’t trying to fix the fan, just messing with stuff and noticed it went away. I cycled the eco mode off then on again. Not sure if that did it or cycling auto brightness off then on again (I’ve done...

Everyone has different eyes. It's the same thing as people having varying ranges of sense of smell, palate, hearing, being able to see ghosts etc..

I see a 12W drop on my UPS when unplugging the monitor vs. plugged in and off. I believe the review is stating that ECO mode shuts off the fan after ten minutes after auto power off, but I haven't tested that yet.

Some interesting info here on the fan https://www.computerbase.de/2022-03/alienware-aw3423dw-qd-oled-test/#abschnitt_nvidia_gsync_ultimate_mit_luefter - Fan is always on when eco mode is disabled, 10 watts constant power draw

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

I'm at 33 brightness, 57 contrast in SDR all day for work. On my PC I run in Auto HDR mode, 57 contrast on monitor, 33 SDR brightness (windows setting) and 70 contrast in Nvidia desktop color). My eyes are more sensitive to brightness, but these settings are ideal for me in a bright room -...

I switched from the AW3821DW. I sit fairly close to my monitor and the 38 was a tad too big for my preference. They will likely release a 38 version at some point though.

I get the same thing, once it is warmed up and running for a bit. Almost seems like the fan curve needs tuning. Similar to https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/comments/tbx7c5/aw3423dw_fan_noise/

Should be under Game -> Preset Modes, use Custom Color and adjust manually to your liking.

I would need quite a bendy adapter. Oh well!

I want one of these, but I have a P8Z77-I DELUXE with no PCIe available. I was trying to find out if it was possible to remove the mPCIe WiFi card and use an adapter to connect a PCIe SSD.
