Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hi Guys:
Doing an affordable build for an office system - which has been known to see some light gaming in the past ;) - and need some input. Here is the board and CPU I'm putting together:
MSI K9A2 Platinum AM2+/AM2 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 7750 Kuma 2.7GHz 2 x...
Thanks guys. I actually found the same identical mobo that blew out on me this morning on Ebay for $79. Still brand new in the shrink wrap no less.
So one last question. Since I'm dropping in the exact same mobo, what do I need in terms of updates once I power up? Chip set drivers...
Another related question. If indeed my mobo is dead, can I swap for a different mobo/processor combo and steal keep all other components the same? The price of finding a 939 mobo may be about the same as AM2 with better CPU. But would I need to reinstall windows and go through all that...
Need some help please.
Powered on my PC today and was greeted by some unwelcomed beeps. 1 long followed by 2 short and a black screen...no post. A video error if I'm reading correctly. We've had some storms and power outages lately, although my machine is plugged into a surge protector...
I'm sure you guys have seen this problem multiple times, but I don't know the answer and couldn't find it while searching the forums.
Lately my machine has been taking about 10 minutes from startup --> post --> welcome screen. I'm running XP Pro with SP2. Once I'm up and going, the machine...
All the data on my system did just go bye bye. Thanks for the help guys. I've heard 7200.11 enough times from enough different people that I think I'll jump on the Seagate train.
Need some help please.
I recently fried the mobo on my system (listed below). Replaced it with Asus A8N32-SLI board. For the last couple of days I have been trying to do a repair install of XP Pro to no avail. I figured out today that when the mobo fried, it also friend both of my WD...
Never mind. Drives are toast....apparently damaged when my mobo melted down.
Going to buy a nice big Caviar, or something along those lines. I don't know that I have much interest in running Raid anymore for what I'm doing. One question though: Can someone make a drive...
Just upgraded my mobo. No new components, but new chipset, etc. Old board listed below. New board is Asus A8N32 - SLI Deluxe. I have been trying to do a clean XP install, but get BSOD about 80% of the way through formatting prior to install.
I have a feeling I need to update to new bios...
I won't say you're welcome because I didn't help in any way. You're thread has been very entertaining and I was dishing just dishing you crap in fun.
The people in this forum have been very helpful to me in the past and the replies come fast and furious, so it's nice to give them props here...
I got to the office today and checked the HSF. It appears it's not seating as well with the new mobo as it was with the old. There was a little bit of play with it, so I imagine when the board is on edge/PC upright, it wasn't making good contact with the CPU. Could certainly explain the heat...
