Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I did the same thing tweaktown did: Put a high CFM fan above the back of the card blowing directly onto the PCI-E power inputs and ostensibly the VRM chips underneath. Took my VRM1 from over 120C running Valley loops to 95-97C max. I can deal with that, as it no longer starts to throttle.
I...
I got it stable by using some tweaks and sticking to one card.
Won't let me run high res textures on 2048mb of VRAM. Oh well.
Locked at 30 FPS it still looks better than PS3 because of resolution and AA.
Now the gameplay...that can get annoying. I miss customizing cars. I would have...
Found on another forum....what I did to get my game working in crossfire for those with AMD cards trying to run both of them and getting crashes, or with a 6990:
Go to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Watch_Dogs
Make a copy of GamerProfile.xml
Open the original GamerProfile.xml...
No Aero, everything off
Single card
Crossfire
SMAA, all settings to high. If I bump to 2x I will get crashes much sooner. I get about 25-40FPS on the single card with stuttering but appears stable, I get 50-60 on crossfire but with Display Driver crashes after a certain amount of...
I am just going off of what MSI afterburner is telling me. It says 3k MB of memory with one card with only 2100MB used. Stays in the green and no problems. Fire up crossfire, and it says 4072MB of memory with 3950MB used and blam crashes. *shrug* I get that in Xfire it is really only 2048MB of...
Girlfriend and I are absolutely loving this. Better than POE and Diablo III for us, and we have over 100+ hours into each. Is the first VH comparable? We are thinking about playing it next.
Yeah it is completely unoptimized. Like we have been talking about, I think it is a driver problem. Crossfire uses twice as much memory for me as a single card on all the same settings.
Two words: Grenade, Launcher. Pop the guards cars and then take out the target. Super easy unless the guard has a shotgun and it is a take down mission and not a kill mission. Those are stupidly frustrating because you have to wait for them to come to you to do the take down. Another hype-game fail.
That is exactly what I am thinking. They fixed xfire for the R9 series...and ignored 6 series and older. It works, and works well, until it doesn't. A driver error is purely on AMDs end, especially when it is fine in single card mode...albeit damn slow. 25-30 FPS vs 55-60...
