    Larger hard drive for an old iBook

    7200rpm drive knocked about 10mins off my battery life. As for heat, its a bit hotter where the drive is, but cooler than a powerbook.

    The only issue I have ever run into when replacing HDs in iBooks (have done it on a few friends ibooks) is the height. They must be 9.5mm. And it helps to get faster drives, youll notice a big performace boost with a 7200rpm drive.

    I saw a site recently that someone posted over on the apple discussion forums that had step-by-step instructions with pics for just about every mac out. And I seem to have been on my gfs computer at the time because the bookmark isnt on this one :( Pop over there and ask for it.
