look on Ebay for a spare Asus Theater Gate remote and IR... my mini-itx board has one and it does this... very nice piece of extra hardware... you will need the software for it too but that can be had via the Asus website... Bioremote from Biostar sorta does this thru WOL...

Ever RMA a motherboard? Share your experience here (good, bad or indifferent)

I've had decent luck with them on the stuff I;ve had RMA'd... The best time was when the GTS250 I had died just a few days after i put it in the rig... It was a nice Dark Knight edition... I had read that the 8800gt cards were able to be "Baked" back into working order so I dug around on...

not so far...the BIOS is a very vanilla UEFI... looks and feels like the AMI BIOS but different if that makes sense...as soon as I dig up a spare hard drive I am going to load windows and put it thru the paces :) just waiting on that and a new PSU... I'll be sure to post up a thread with pics soon

This is the SFF mini-itx HTPC I built 2 years ago using the Asus ION mini-itx board and a G-Skill Phoenix 64gb SSD. It also uses a Laptop style Slim DVD drive... very small, Quiet and works very well. I have it paired with a Logitec DiNovo mini remote.... So far I have built quite a...

    Troubleshooting silent ZOTAC FUSION350

you WILL need a 24-pin PSU and the Monitor needs to be FULL DVI not the VGA/DVI converted...it will not show video if its not full DVI.... there should be pins on the board for a Speaker... I'd find one and hook it up and see what its doing

    No good LGA 1155 Motherboards!

The Gigabyte Z68-UD4 is an awesome board. I had a friend build a 2700k rig with it with ZERO issues so far... Unlike the Asus and MSI boards that had multiple issues right out of the box...MSI being the worst of the two...

Kingston SSD wont format for me to install windows

with windows 7 you dont need to format the drive...just install it and go...formatting is just un-necessary writing to the drive... on a used drive I have either Zero filled it or formatted it within windows itself..on the bench box I have yet to format a drive under Vista or Win7...it was...

Help me choose a CPU for Pop's...

3btech is local for me....and they now own PC-Direct.com which also have local retail outlet stores... I'd honestly go with either the Athlon 240/250 or the X3-4**series if its in budget... I have a Athlon 250 and its a nice chip...

    AMI BIOS

both Vendors use teh same layout at times... AMI makes a great BIOS but you want the one that looks like the Phoenix...the Blue back ground with Red hovers Phoenix has a BIOS version just like the AMI that works the same way...I agree I dont like the plain AMI style...

After OS Win7 reinstall do you guys install Intel drivers still?

I was told today...to install the updated Intel drivers especially if you are running AHCI mode as the Intel driver were updated in February of this year....and they are better than the Win7 drivers... I just installed a Patriot 128gb SSD today and I forgot to choose AHCI...but thankfully MS...
