look on Ebay for a spare Asus Theater Gate remote and IR... my mini-itx board has one and it does this... very nice piece of extra hardware... you will need the software for it too but that can be had via the Asus website...

not so far...the BIOS is a very vanilla UEFI... looks and feels like the AMI BIOS but different if that makes sense...as soon as I dig up a spare hard drive I am going to load windows and put it thru the paces :)

you WILL need a 24-pin PSU and the Monitor needs to be FULL DVI not the VGA/DVI converted...it will not show video if its not full DVI....
there should be pins on the board for a Speaker... I'd find one and hook it up and see what its doing
The Gigabyte Z68-UD4 is an awesome board. I had a friend build a 2700k rig with it with ZERO issues so far... Unlike the Asus and MSI boards that had multiple issues right out of the box...MSI being the worst of the two...
used to be able to find the drivers ont he Supox website as they are teh Old Epox...but I cant find the website currently...they had all the old drivers
with windows 7 you dont need to format the drive...just install it and go...formatting is just un-necessary writing to the drive...
on a used drive I have either Zero filled it or formatted it within windows itself..on the bench box
I have yet to format a drive under Vista or Win7...it was...

AMI makes a great BIOS but you want the one that looks like the Phoenix...the Blue back ground with Red hovers
Phoenix has a BIOS version just like the AMI that works the same way...I agree I dont like the plain AMI style...
I was told today...to install the updated Intel drivers especially if you are running AHCI mode as the Intel driver were updated in February of this year....and they are better than the Win7 drivers...
