I found this regarding Samsung switching controllers. When downloading files to the drive, the largest the individual file size will not exceed 100GB. I could simultaneously write a few of these files. Then I process the files which writes another copy to the drive. After the post...
On second thought, cancelled my order for the 970 EVO Plus because someone else recommended the Crucial P3 Plus 2TB Gen. 4 for the same price. He was saying that the older 970 EVO Plus are not the same as the new ones being made, that it's like a bait and switch by Samsung and the P3 Plus...
Thanks for the same recommendation. Just ordered the 970 EVO Plus 2TB on Amazon. I know I will only be able to get another couple of years out of my rig thanks to Microsoft. Still on Windows 10. When I am forced to upgrade builds I know at the least the new MOBOs will be PCIe Gen.4
Hi all, I have an x399 Threadripper build that I am wanting to upgrade storage if it makes sense. I am not a gamer. I aquire a lot of media online and do some post processing and then move it to my NAS. I am currently using a 2TB WD Black drive for this. I like the longevity/ reliability but...
I just bought a Windows 11 Home HP laptop for my father in-law. I installed Webroot SecureAnywhere which I have on my rig which has Windows 10. A friend told me he believes Windows 11 Home has Bit locker and Windows Defender is further advanced which will protect the system from ransomware...
After 7 months since I installed the ProSiphon Elite, I have been able to push my Threadripper 1950X further than I ever thought I could. The numbers speak for themselves and what a performance increase I have been able to get. It took some tinkering with the voltages to get a stable overclock...
I've had the Prosiphon installed for a couple months now. It attaches no less secure than the Noctua U14-S or Thermalright Silver Arrow without affecting the motherboard. After seeing this with my own eyes and pushing 1.4V at a 4.1Ghz overclock on the 1950X running all cores around 100% for...
This makes sense now. Sounds like you are going to do hardware based encoding with the graphic card. Processor (Software) based encoding is much slower.
Here's the latest with this beast of a cooler: Just overclocked to 4.1 Ghz at 1.4v. Encoding a 4K movie now with all cores at 100% and pushing over 330 Watts output. Temperature is hanging at 77.5c and did not get above 78c
I've got a similar setup. I have a big case (Phanteks Enthoo Pro) so I have 3 140mm Noctua 3000 rpm industrial fans on the top of the case exhausting air out and 2 of the same fans bringing air in from the front. When turned up it is very loud. I'm hoping with the Prosiphon I can run the fans...
