Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I want to get a PCI-E card to run a M2 SSD off at full x4 speed, as the M2 slot on the Z97-A is only x2. Can anyone recommend a good card? Will the M2 drive running off the PCI-E card interfere with my PCI-E GPU (1070ti) at all?
Yeah, I did a clean install of the drivers. He didn't have any AMD drivers before anyway as he was just using the Intel IGP.
Yesterday I updated the motherboard BIOS, tweaked a couple of BIOS settings to match mine (we have the same MB+CPU) and updated the drivers to 19.1.1. Some of that might...
I just installed a new Sapphire RX 570 Nitro+ 8GB in my Dad's PC and have noticed some weird issues. His system is Asus Z97-A, i5-4670k @4.4Ghz, 32GB DDR3, 2*SSD, 2*HDD, Corsair CX750M PSU.
I tested with X-Plane 11 in Windows 10, which is a clean install just for X-Plane, and monitored the GPU...
I've realised there's a problem with my previous design. I've cloned the inner pole (green) behind the moving one in these pictures so that you can see the problem better and I've marked a variety of desk->bottom of monitor distances. With the monitor in the lowest position, roughly 97cm above...
I'm trying to design a vertical dual-monitor stand as a present for my Dad and saw some clever stand designs people have come up with here for various types of monitor stands, so I'm hoping someone might be able to assist me. Normally I'd ask my Dad for advice but I'm trying to make it a...
Hmm, do you have information on their 2.5" drives, as that's what I just bought as a backup drive? http://www.ebuyer.com/509715-toshiba-2tb-stor-e-canvio-portable-hard-drive-silver-hdtc720es3ca
I don't think so, all the SATA ports (4 +2 via the SATA Express) come off the Intel chipset.
Strange, I had the impression they were meant to be quite good.
Thanks guys, I'll look for a Toshiba or WD Red drive then. HGST drives seem to be about twice the price of the others here!
I might buy a Toshiba 2TB Stor.E Canvio Portable USB3 Hard Drive for £65 for now, as I need an extra backup drive really anyway and see if this Samsung keeps working OK...
That's interesting, as I've just upgraded from a MSI 990FXA-GD80 AMD board to a Asus Z97-A, so maybe it is the controller that's the problem.
I had to tell Win8.1 to shut up as it kept warning me that the drive was failing but now I've got rid of that message, if it will work on a different...
As you can see from these HDTune screenshots, my Samsung HD204UI 2TB drive is on it's way out and is having trouble spinning up. In fact, after resuming from standby this evening I heard it struggling to spin up and although I could access it, it showed all the folders as empty! After a cold...
Anyone had the wake-with-mouse button function stop working recently? I can't think of anything that's changed, unless a Windows Update has broken it. I checked the mouse under Device Manager and that still has it set to allow it to wake the system.
I'm running a Z97-A and Windows 8.1.
Is there anything special I need to do to make this work with Win 8.1 x64?
I get these two errors in the eventlog when I try and run it.
Application: AudioSwitch.exe
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.

You da man :) I think the NZXT Source 530 is the only choice really. It actually has 310mm clearance even with the cages, so I might not need to remove them but it's nice to have the option if bigger cards come along and still have the two drive cage below the motherboard, plus the SSD mount...
Thanks rennyf77. It looks like the Zalman Z5 has the same problem as all the other cases I've looked at though, namely that the HDD cage is too high and thus would restrict the length available for slots 6 and 7. As the first GPU will take slots 2 and 3 (and possibly overhang 4, certainly my...
