Official LG Curved Ultrawide 34UC97 thread

Just picked one of these up.. Anyone have any idea who I need to contact to get the VESA adapter that people have been saying LG is providing for free?

Official LG Curved Ultrawide 34UC97 thread

Anyone running 2 or 3 of these? If so, what are you using to drive them? Looking to pickup 2 or 3. Had a couple questions: 1) Hoping to drive at least 2 of them with 1 machine, use the 3rd to split between two other laptops. What machines/video cards are you using to run 2? I was...

Link Aggregation Options - vSphere 5.5 - Essentials Plus

I would never use Dell switches (Outside of the Force10 gear) for anything other than strictly Layer2 (single VLAN) as I would be doing here. I just don't see the sense wasting money without a need.

Link Aggregation Options - vSphere 5.5 - Essentials Plus

Any thoughts on the Powerconnect 8024F or 8132F for straight 10Gbe layer2 NFS traffic? I have heard good things when not using any advanced L2 or L3 feature-sets (Just dumb switch).

Link Aggregation Options - vSphere 5.5 - Essentials Plus

    Yeah I guess that will be my option. I scale out VM traffic to like 4 x 1Gbe. I actually have 6 x 1Gbe, then 2 x 10Gbe - 10Gbe is just for storage. 2x1Gb vSwitch0 - Management 4x1Gb vSwitch1 - VM traffic 2x10Gb vSwitch2 - NFS and VMotion - NFS using 1st adapter active, 2nd adapter...

Link Aggregation Options - vSphere 5.5 - Essentials Plus

Yeah it looks like that's the only options. :( Not true aggregation, but close enough. How well does it handle the failover on the NFS mounts?

Link Aggregation Options - vSphere 5.5 - Essentials Plus

    What Link Aggregation options are available with vSphere 5.5 w/ Essentials Plus. Thought was to have 4 x 1Gbe and 2 x 10Gbe links for a small bundle. 2 x 1Gbe going to Switch A Gig-e 2 x 1Gbe going to Switch B Gig-e Aggregated 4Gbit - Serves failover functions. 1 x 10Gbe going to...

vSphere 5.5 License Limitations (Essentials Plus)

I was under the understanding with some of the vmware reps that it's also okay when it's different divisions within the company. I know quite a few "smaller" companies that have their IT divisions split up where one doesn't have access to the others infrastructure. Those are the situations I...

Or just run multiple instances of Essentials.. Multiple vCenter, etc.. :)

vSphere 5.5 License Limitations (Essentials Plus)

I keep running into conflicting reports on the following question about licensing limitations. I have a meeting tomorrow with a vendor and vmware to clear them up, but figured I could get ahead of them tonight with the experts on forum here. I am purchasing vSphere 5.5 Essentials Plus...

HP Microserver - Fast enough to serve LTO6 Autoloader?

I am looking to purchase a HP Microserver G8, however I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on it. I would be putting the following hardware in the server: 1 or 2 x 128GB SSD OS Drive 2 x 3TB SATA Drives LSI 9200-8e Low Profile x8 HBA feeding to a Tandberg LTO6 7818 Autoloader. I was...

Recommendations for "cheap" PCI-E SAS 6Gb/s HBA? C6100 Tape Questions/Passthrough

Ended up picking up a LSI 9200-8e new in the box which included a high profile and low profile bracket. Hopefully this should work. I'll feel a lot more comfortable once I have all the family photos and videos on tape and off-site.

Recommendations for "cheap" PCI-E SAS 6Gb/s HBA? C6100 Tape Questions/Passthrough

I'm having a hard time finding a wide selection of HBA's with the low profile bracket. I found the Dell SAS 6 External controller cheap directly from dell, but I can't find any reference to the low profile bracket anywhere...

Recommendations for "cheap" PCI-E SAS 6Gb/s HBA? C6100 Tape Questions/Passthrough

I'm looking for a SAS 6Gb/s adapter which I can put into one of my C6100 node's to feed to a LTO6 Autoloader. Just ordered a LTO6 autoloader to take care of all my home video, pictures, etc. Seems like the best archival for kid's photos and whatnot. Does anyone have any recommendations of...
