    Freezing - Vid Card

Hello. I have a 8800GT EVGA card, Extreme gamer soundcard, core 2 duo 6300, 4 gig ram, 600 watt PSU, and the rest is basically a stock HP machine. The vid card is about 10 months old and worked just fine until recently. I'm running into my PC freezing during full screen DVD playing and...

Old games you would like to see remade.

Jagged Alliance Strike Commander M.U.L.E. (old atari)

The first game you have ever played

Mine were the first cartridges for the Atari 400. Breakout, Pacman, DigDug, Asteroids, etc. Dunno which one I actually played first. I'm 29, we got the 400 when I was very young, when it first came out. Finally upgraded to an Atari 800 a few years later. We used that thing all the dang...

    Memcheck / memtest

Yeah,I was leaning towards the HD too.....just trying to get some proof so I can insist that HP just send me a new HD with an OS on it rather than making me send them the whole computer or something like that.

    Memcheck / memtest

Well I let memtest run for about 9 hours over night....no errors this morning but it was still running too. I'm guessing errors would have started popping up within those 9 hours tho.

    Memcheck / memtest

I'll sum it up, maybe you guys can help. I made a post in the PSU thread about some basics of it. Here my system. HP m7650n. Duo Core 6300, 2 gig DDR2 4200.....320 gig hd, came with XP, upgraded to Vista. 7600gs e-vga card, Soundblaster Xtremegamer - nonfat. Here's what its...

    Memcheck / memtest

Perfect, an exe file. I'll try the iso if I have too. The other one I came across wasn't either one. It was something I've never see before. I'm guessing I've either got a bad mem stick or bad hd.....I think I've ruled out cooling and power problems....but who knows. Thanks!

    Memcheck / memtest

Hey all. I'm hunting ghosts in my computer and keep seeing references to memcheck and memtest. I'm assuming these aren't utilities that are standard on a pc. I've run all the PC Doctor stuff that came on my HP....but it comes up with nothing. Can anyone point me to a good, freeware...

Can you pull stuff off a DVR to a comp?

I'm sure there is a way to do it, but I've never done it. My best guess wuold be something similiar to the way I use my DVD player/burner to burn from my DVR. Jack your vid-out on your DVR player to a vid-in on your PC. A vid-in on a tuner card may or may not work....not sure how picky that...

HP PC and 7600gs - PSU Prob?

Cool....I'll have to remember to check total amps on the rails when combined too. I'm a little hesitant to have to go the new case route cuz this is my HTPC.....so it sits on the living room floor next to my tv and tv stand.....although since my Sony SXRD is mostly black....and my stand is...

HP PC and 7600gs - PSU Prob?

Oh.....anyone ever use a psu tester before? The instructions say to unhook everything from the psu....this seems like a pain in the ass. Everything in this case is so tight i'll probably have to remove things just to unplug power cable.

HP PC and 7600gs - PSU Prob?

Thanks for the suggestions! May sound like a dumb question....but something like this 7600gs that recommends at least 20amps on the 12v rail......if a psu has multipe 12v rails like the one in the link....with 18amp each.......is it the total 12v rail amps that count, or each one? Hope...

HP PC and 7600gs - PSU Prob?

Thanks! I'll look into swapping power supplies....and I may research just swapping everything into a new case with a power supply already in it. Is Ultra a pretty solid brand? I've definetely noticed cooling in this case is pretty bad. I don't know how accurate some of these programs...

HP PC and 7600gs - PSU Prob?

I've tried reading thru the faqs and several pages of threads and still not sure about my issues. I'm running a HP m7650n....duo 6300, 2gig ddr2, 320gig hd, 1 dvd burner, full specs here...
