    Ok i fixed it by just using the onboard sound card and useing the cretive sound card for input only. I know it's dodgy but it is a easy fix.

    Yeah it is a Asus MB the A7V8X-MX what i belive is a VIA chipset. I suppose i just keep playing with it the reason i wanted to get it working was i also have the old live drive2 bay and i was giving the computer to my bro so he can use it to recrod music. Thanks for your replys

    I have a old sound blaster live card and when i play music every so often i will get a distorted clicking sound. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and new of a way to fix it. Or is it just that the sound card has died?
