was having random blue screens for several months. (about 6 months ago)
replaced old ram and the blue screens stopped; for a while.
was starting to get blue screens again this month, though not as frequently. ran memtest and all the new ram passed.

i've been out of this for sooooo long i'm playing catch up on research.
i'm not so sure it's the CPU. the system has been running fine for just under 2 years now.
i'm at my wits end an am about to build a cheap i3 machine just so i have a PC for finals.
can't use the DVD drive to try and do a restore
can't even get into the BIOS to tell it to boot from the DVD first. not sure how to flash the BIOS now. can i just use a flash drive? how would it know to boot from that first if i don't set it in the BIOS (which i can't get into)

I bought a refurbed CM690 a year ago when I built a new PC. It has tons of room for everything and plenty of space to run cables behind the mobo.

@ hafaznmatt: why do you feel the MP is lacking? I thought they added a lot of things to the MP. ie: multiple attachments, custom killstreaks, etc.

PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOVLED
3yr old pc was (mostly) fine until a day ago.
fans spin up, hard drives spin up, cpu fan spins up, but no post screen.
I replaced the cmos battery and reset the cmos.
tried different combos of RAM in different slots.
pulled the whole thing apart and rebuilt it...
