Guys,
I have a problem with my PC. Its a Q6600, 4 x 2gb (8gb total) DDR2 PC6400, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 motherboard, Antec Sonata III midi tower case with 500W earthwatts PSU, 3 hdds, a 8800 GTS 512mb video card and running Vista Home Premium x64.
It usually runs fine, but as of lately, I've...
Can't believe it was that simple. I'd made no changes that I could possibly think of that'd cause Vista to not load.. but apparently that was it. Just selected 'load optimised settings' which I interpret to mean 'load default settings'... And its working now. Thanks. Sometimes the obvious things...
That KB article seems to refer to an actual error message being displayed. I'm not getting that. It just plain hangs... In any case, it didn't work with 1 stick of 2gb...
Doesn't seem to have worked. This time the screen went literally dead (no signal to the monitor) and so did the keyboard and mouse, at roughly the same point in the installation. The hard drive was 'ticking' every now and then, but not the way it would if it had a fault. It was just a seek every...
Hey guys,
Normally I'm pretty good with PC builds and wouldn't need to ask for help but this one has got me stumped.
I've ordered in some parts to build a new system and installed them all, everything looks good but during the Vista installation, it gets to the 'Completing installation'...
Cmon guys, the answer is out there somewhere.. Google has directed me to "Virtual Display Manager" ( http://www.ishadow.com/Downloads/VirtualDisplayManager/tabid/115/Default.aspx ) which seems to do the job, but I recall there being a freeware tool that did the same thing.. anyone?
Hey guys,
this should be a real simple answer.. what is the name of the software that allows you to split a monitor display into 'virtual' displays so you can maximise to that part of the screen? I know it exists because I remember reading about it on the forums here, but rather than blindly...
Exactly. I'm not asking for advice on ram or OS, just the motherboard choice!! ;) But again, why the deluxe over the non-deluxe version? What is the difference?
Guys,
I'm building a new PC from scratch with the following components in mind:
Vista Home Premium
8gb ram (4x2gb PC6400)
Q6600 with the intention of OC'ing it to (hopefully) around 3.3-3.6ghz
GeForce 8800GTS (maybe slight OC)
Which of the two motherboards would be better for this...
Yet another seller says "The DVD-D dual link configuration provides enough bandwidth for resolutions up to 2048 x 1536 and allows high speed digital transmission up to 9.9 Gbps"... also not high enough for the native 3007WFP-HC... :(
Quick one.. I'm considering buying a cheap Dell refurbished 3007WFP-HC (if anyone has any advice re that, I'd be interested to hear too.. are they generally in good reliable working condition? this one only has a 30 day warranty), and the seller advises that he cannot guarantee that it will come...
I was just wondering exactly what the potential issues with using 4 sticks as opposed to 2 in a system?
Last time I built one from the ground up, I had 4 sticks without a problem on a P4 2.4ghz OC'ed to 3.2ghz (mem overclocked at a lower ratio though.. 4:3 or something), but I've read quite a...
