    ok, ok get the jokes out about the compaq thing. its running win98se anyways, I went to shut down pc and it froze when shutting down so I held the power button down and it still didnt shut down, so I pulled the plug on it as it doesnt have a power switch on the back. now it wont power on...

    oh yeah I forgot to explain the real problem now is that it wont turn on. I hold the power button down and get nothing. I tried in multiple plugs to make sure it wasnt just the outlet. there is no power switch on the back of the PS, and when I plug it in nothing happens, no fan, no lights...

    so I was chosen to fix my parents PC and was referred here from another board. First off my parents PC was acting up, it was starting up but the monitor would not power on (just sleep mode). Then the monitor would come on but the PC would be in safe mode. So I finally got it running properly...
