Samsung 970 evo on Asus B150 Pro Gaming

Thanks for the replies. I’ll probably stick with SATA drives for now then.

Samsung 970 evo on Asus B150 Pro Gaming

Hi all, I currently have a Crucial MX300 SSD installed, but I'm going to run out of room soon so I am thinking about upgrade options. I could just install another SATA SSD as an extra drive, or clone my current drive on to a new larger one. I've also been looking at M.2 / NVME options, as I...

    200R Case Launched

Redbeard, Nice looking case, a definite candidate for my next build. Howeve, please could you confirm the dimensions of the case - the ones on the tech specs page make it bigger than my current Fractal Design R3 by a reasonable amount... Thanks :).

    Intel 1156 cooler suggestions

Thanks for the feedback. I now have a 212 Evo installed, and stock temps are good, about the same as the H50 was giving me. However, he noise level has gone down, as I've removed the fan that was exhausting out he top and sealed off the hole, and put that back as rear exhaust, meaning that he...

    Intel 1156 cooler suggestions

I am currently running an intel i5 750 with a Corsair H50 cooler inside a Fractal Design R3 case. The H50 is set as intake, with exhaust out the top. However, several factors have got me thinking that, since I'm not actually over clocking the CPU, having the H50 is overkill - getting rid of it...

Fractal Designs R3 or wait for Arc Midi?

I'm looking for a new case, and the Fractal Designs ones have caught my eye. I've read a bit about the R3, and it seems to give decent enough cooling, as well as being a bit quieter than other cases. However, the Arc Midi is on the way, apparently in April in the UK. This seems like a nice case...

    2x120mm vs 1x200mm fans

For a case with the ability to have top exhaust fans, which would be better for cooling and noise, 2x120mm fans or one 200mm fan? Thanks, Dave.

Is my PSU on the way out?

Me too! I'm not sure I can afford to build a new Sandy Bridge rig at the moment :(.

Is my PSU on the way out?

It turns out my PSU was on the way out... I reinstalled my H50 cooler, and ran a 4GHz OC test, and part way through everything died :(. So I've ordered a Corsair HX750 to replace it.

    Modular vs fixed cables?

OK, probably opening a can of worms up here, but here goes... I will be replacing my PSU soon, and I've been looking at the Corsair HX modular range, and the Antec True Power New. I currently have an Antec 300 case, which, although I think it's a pretty good case for the money, it doesn't...

Cooler Master Hyper 212+ vs Thermalright Silver Arrow

I had another go with a 4GHz oc yeasterday, using the stock Coolermaster fan pushing over the HS, and a Gentle Typhoon pulling, and got the same results as before, i.e. decent enough idle temps, but on load it shot up quickly to about 80 degrees at which point I shut the run down. No idea what's...

Cooler Master Hyper 212+ vs Thermalright Silver Arrow

Ah, I was only running one fan, blowing over the HS. I might be able to give your suggestion a try, failing that I'll put my H50 back on.

Is my PSU on the way out?

Thanks, I'll see what I can come up with to replace it.I'm in the UK, so I'm not holding my breath for a cheap, decent quality, modular one. Modular isn't essential, but would be nice - my current one isn't modular, and although I can create a semi-neat wiring layout, my neat aesthetic would...

Cooler Master Hyper 212+ vs Thermalright Silver Arrow

I wish my Hyper 212+ and i5-740 @ 4GHz ran at 66 degrees under load. When I run OCCT, the temp shoots up fairly quickly and then stops after about 5 minutes because it's reached 80 degrees :(. The stock fan got quite loud at max speed, using a Gentle Typhoon was much quieter.
