From what I've managed to check, there seems to be remarkably few micro BTX cases available. Given It's taken a susprisingly long time for mATX cases to mature and get where they are now...

That one's a myth. Some website did a test using identical cases except one was aluminium vs steel. No difference.
I would tend to agree that aluminium as a whole does look better. Mind silverstone has done some good jobs with their cases - many have steel body, aluminium front.

Having a proper look at it that's not even a full ATX sized PSU. If you look at the read shot the height of the PSU area is far too small compared to the 120mm fan grill - compare it to the Qpack and you can see the PSU socket is much larger.
I should have seen that - custom PSU design...
Most people who purchase don't cut their case and those that do any serious modding will be using dremel which can cut steel just as happily. Only the tiniest minority of people will cut their case and assuming you are using proper tools it is no more of a challenge.

I suspect your numbers are erring on the optimistic side regards the QPack. I suspect it's a bit heavier than that and you need to account for a likely weight difference due the quality of the PSU.
Still, even 15lbs vs 26lb is pretty damn insignificant that is unless you are carrying the case...

The Qpack is 10lb (shipping from their website) while the steel Antec 3300 is 16.3lb with the PSU.
