    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

Has anyone looked into having their 38GL firmware updated by an LG repair center since it seems LG (NVidia?) has prevented end-users from updating? Is there anything to be gained by an update?

Awesome! I feel foolish for not just removing the shroud from mine before going ahead and watercooling it! Maybe I should undo my waterblock and plumbing and try reinstalling the fan with the shroud removed...

"You need to move the cursor down to the bottom of the service menu where there isn't any option (blank) then power cycle." In case anyone is wondering watercooling my GL950G now has the die temp at 40C but most importantly, no fan noise at all.

    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

Does anyone know how to exit service menu? I've just finished my fan-delete project but I'm stuck in the service menu! I think I'm in the AGING screen, the one that walks around the border of the screen showing the temp and fan status. I can't escape.

When will gsync waterblocks be available?

Yup, i'd also expect full software control. But another reason for the USB cable is to work as a "passthrough" for USB decides plugged into the monitor. For example I have a USB headtracking camera and a USB webcam plugged into my 38GL.

    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

38GL here as well and I opened my OnScreen Control to check, I also get the 2nd screen. Why do you think you should be seeing the first? After previously having a Dell ultrawide, and currently having 2 dell ultrawides, the LG onscreen control is annoying and I just don't use it. Disappointing.

Mine had a dirt spot in it.

    Replacing 38" ultrawide. Suggestions?

38GN has been on sale on costco.com for $1400

Looks like this is some evidence there will be a 38" Alienware. https://www.e-misija.si/pdf/Dell%20portfolio.pdf

Speaking of wishlists, yes it'd be nice to have more 38" options but now that I've finally settled on a 38GL it'd be nice to see a 42" version, just stretched out the 24:10 some more.

    LG 38GL950G - 37.5" 3840x1600/G-Sync/175Hz

You think there will be a flood to large, curved ultrawide monitors? Mainly because the next gen of GPU's will support HDMI 2.1 and that will somehow create more demand for large, high-performance gaming monitors?

You don't hear a hissing noise coming from your LG 38GL950G? What is the manufacture date (label on the back of the display) if you don't mind...

Amazing! Thank you for the heads-up! I've been struggling with coping with the 38GL fan so I just placed an order on costco.com for the 38GN. Now I can compare side-by-side to my heart's content and eventually sleep easy at night with my choice.
