Barebone laptops from manufacturer like Compel, Clevo, etc now the day are pretty modular (you can source your own CPU, memory, HDD, etc.) with limited warranty (anywhere from 30-90 days.) And most resellers are pretty strict about scratches/physical damages should you decide to return the box...
Bare in mind that 20" laptops are HUGE and HEAVY. You do NOT want to carry that with you to and from airports/conventions because even with the best back pack the weight still cuts into your shoulder(s). It also depends on what games you wanted to play with it. There are some 17" solutions...
