    Gigabyte P55 UD4P vs UD3R?

I myself am looking at these 2 boards for my next build and wondering the same thing. IMO, the UD4P would be a better choice for higher overclocking due to the extra heat sink but I'm sure they bother offer very similar performance.

    Faulty PSU or Video card?

Hrmm, I may have figured out the issue myself. Figures, after I post for help. My video cards come overclocked at stock. Has an aftermarket heatsink so should be fine but I downclocked my video card speeds and everything so far seems ok. I'll have to check it out more.

    Faulty PSU or Video card?

I have an issue and I can't figure out if it's a power issue or video card issue. I have a Powercolor Radeon 4870 and one of the red LED's on the back of my video card is on. After researching what it is, I can't seem to find much other then it could be a bad PSU or card. It's labeled as "D601"...

Upgraded to 4GB, OC not working anymore...

Maybe one of the new sticks is bad? I'd try running the system with just the 2 new sticks and see how it performs. If it appears to be fine, try swapping them out with your 2 old sticks to make sure they didn't go bad for some strange reason.

Confused on Intels memory, speeds, FSB, DDR2 vs DDR3..... aaaaaarrrghhhh!

Do you plan on overclocking? If not, there's really no point in buying an E8600 over and E8500 or even E8400 for a few extra MHz. Even an E8500 and E8400 OC pretty well. From what you say you mainly use a computer for, there's also no reason to get a quad core. I'd recommend picking up an...

    Hardware temperature monitoring

You won't find anything better for cpu monitoring then those programs... I don't know of anything that will monitor nb though. I'd like to know a program that has that ability as well.

    Hardware temperature monitoring

HWMonitor and CoreTemp are the best out there. I'm not familiar with anything else. Oh yeah, you could also try Everest. You can monitor temps and voltages in that program and much more.
