Hardware RAID is overrated. I built a 192 Drive ZFS server at work for backups. It is all based on software RAID on cheap HBA cards. Supermicro JBOD's and head node.
Also, does anyone know if there is a way to take an old Time Warner Cable box and use it as a TV Tuner on a different provider? We get basic cable in, but do not pay for a cable box. I happen to have an old one around though.
What is the cheapest and easiest device that takes in Cable TV, and outputs RCA, DVI or VGA? I have an LCD with no cable input, and I don't have a cable box with my cable TV.
Any ideas? Is there something like a cheap TIVO?
Thanks,
Jordan
Hi all,
Has anyone experimented with a 30" center monitor + 2 x 24" monitors, one on each side? I am gearing up for this, but want to see if anyone has any feedback.
I am not gaming, just doing software development.
Thanks so much,
Jordan
For that matter, if anyone can suggest after-market stands that are not too expensive. Don't need anything super fancy, just something on par with OEM.
