Custom built desk with cable storage/management underneath. Custom computer shelf. Custom speaker stands/lamps. All of it took about 1'ish week to build/plan/etc.

wouldn't you lose the benefits of being able to return the monitor if it is by chance bad coming from a 3rd party ebay reseller? i've not bought stuff like this from ebay, so maybe it is a standard practice to have the same return policies as it would be buying straight from the manufacturer.
So, I finally made the leap and bought a usb DAC to power my M-Audio AV40's. When music is playing (and it sounds great, btw!) and I proceed to do anything CPU intensive, I get a lot of static/chatter over the speakers. Now, I'll preface that by saying, I'm not using any overly expensive USB...
Lol, thanks, not a coincidence though.. the desk is custom built by me to fit in that nook in my house. ;) I used to have an Ikea Jerker there and it bugged me so much that the desk seemed so out of place there, so I built a new desk.

Criccio, i have that same monitor, as well as an LG 246w; no matter how much tweaking i've done to the LG, the Gateway still looks more accurate with regards to colors, blacks, whites, etc.
