When you have to press it multiple times, is that because it comes on momentarily and then turns off again, or is it you press it until it turns on?
If it's the latter, I suspect it's a bad connection between the plastic button and the switch on the board below it.

I have the HX620W listed on the page above. About 2 weeks ago I had 3 hard-drives mess up within the space of a week. I can't rule out a power surge as, stupidly, I wasn't running my PC through a surge protector. Alas, if that was the cause then...
I'm fairly certain that manufacturers lock their keyboards to their own receivers. You might have luck with a logitech wireless keyboard, but you'd have to email their support.
On my old PC i had an audio-out on the back and front of my case. I always had my speakers plugged into the back, and when I wanted to watch a movie I'd plug my tv's audio-in to the audio-out on the front of my case, then i'd have sound coming out my pc speakers and also TV. Great solution for...
