ok guys, i now have my temp probe and i have placed it as close to the core as possible (i.e. within a mm of the corner of the core) and that is reading atm 26.6 degrees, but speedfan says 35 degrees, also speedfan went up to 44 degrees but the probe said 31.4 degrees. which one is correct...

case temp is 20 degrees and mobo temp is around 35 degrees. when i said between the hsf and cpu i didn't mean on the core, i meant next to it! i bought a "compunurse" so hopefully that'll tell me the temps are lower!!!

any recommendations? im guessing i'd need a thin one to fit between hsf and cpu.

it makes very good contact with the core. can anyone help me get my temps down? thanks daven

im pretty sure that the heatsink makes no contact with the socket, but i'll make sure again thakns daven

not quite sure what you mean vengance. Borgschulze my case is on its side for that very reason. i thought it might be airflow in my case but then surely the temps would at least me the same. maybe contact isn't as good as i think it is, should i shave another mm or so off the mount? the zalman...

forget about prime stable. if it does all you want - play games etc. without breaking then it is stable.
