Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I recently built a new system and I ended up splurging on a GTX 1080. I mainly do office work from home and screen quality/refresh rate hasn't been an issue, except when I game here and there.
I've had the same monitors for the last decade ( 2 x Acer x223wbd) and I feel like it's time to...
I'm sorry.. I sort of am taking your suggestion though. I plan to get a higher hz monitor if I can afford it, but I really can't spend more than $200 and would like to stay around the $150 if possible.
And thanks for mentioning that about Acer. I think I remember hearing something like that...
Thanks for basically confirming my issue. So it's simply a shitty monitor... I guess I never really thought much about monitor quality and spent all my money on the rest of my system. I will defiantly get a new monitor asap.
Thanks for the reply guys. I don't think the problem is ghosting per se.. I'm really thinking that it's just because I bought this monitor back in 2008 for like $100 and I've been too lazy/cheap to spend a little extra on a faster and better monitor.
This shit's been so hard on my eyes but...
A long time ago, I used to play Unreal Tournament on our computers in school, in CAD class, after we finished work. This was back in the day of CRT monitors. I vividly remember being blown away by how utterly smooth the video was while playing. Like, I could turn left/right and look up/down...
I am asking because I posted a question in one of the sections the other day and then googled my title and one of the top results was hardware.forumsee.com and it was basically an auto-copy and post of what I had posted, just on a different webpage with different theme and more advertisements. I...
haha I know... its confusing to write out..
My monitors: 1 DVI and 1 VGA
My video card outs: DVI, HDMI, 2xMini display port
What I did: I naturally hooked up my DVI monitor to my DVI port on the video card. I then had the VGA monitor waiting to be connected, but needed a VGA to HDMI...
Apparently I have 2 x mini display ports, which I've never heard of until now. Then there is HDMI and DVI out. So maybe I can use the two mini display ports, but I'll need new adapter cables.
ok... wait.... so the problem is the VGA aspect of the hardware (that it's not compatible with HDCP) correct? What is the solution? Can I just get a HDMI monitor and then use that along with my DVI monitor?? Or am I only going to be able to use one or the other?
So my old video card was a GeForce 9800GTX+ which had a DVI and VGA out. I had to displays set up and working fine -- main one was DVI and the other was VGA.
I got a new MSI R7850 to replace the old card. I connected my DVI monitor and then bought a VGA to DVI cable from Amazon to use with my...
