Can you do a repair installation of Windows 7?

You must be able to boot into windows. Then put in your win7 DVD and install using the 'Upgrade' option. There were a few programs that I had to reinstall afterward, but it was relatively painless.

    Good Router

How about an ASUS RT-N16 flashed with the latest kernel 26 version of tomato. Works great for me and lots of flexibility.

Q6600 over temps, how bad is it?

You can find out the VID of your chip by using CoreTemp (the latest one works in Vista x64 - yah!!). Otherwise glad to see you got the temps down to a safe level. Now theres no need to burn-in your chip, since you've already accomplished that! he-he

Windows Vista 64 Bit vs 32 Bit first build ever

I ran Vista x86 for about 6 months, but in July I switched over to x64. I'm glad I did. I might as well make use of the 4gb ram and 64-bit capable processor.

    Vista x64 or XP x64?

One word of advice from a person who made the mistake; Don't go running a bunch of registry cleaners on Vista x64. It offers no benefit, unless you're into screwing up your system.

    Vista memory usage question.

Vista does make use of available memory more heavily than XP, but it does release the memory once the app that was using it is closed.

Q6600 over temps, how bad is it?

It's definately something to pay close attention to. The Tjunction (or something like that) limit is 100 degrees. I think you need better cooling and/or reseat your heatsink.

    Linux on IP35 Pro + ICH9R

If you change the ICH9R to AHCI mode in the bios you will lose your RAID functionality. But if you have it in RAID mode and have disks connected to the controller that have not been made RAID, they will operate in AHCI. I believe that is how I understand it anyways. If you want linux to pick up...

Anybody having problems overclocked w/ Vista?

I actually found mine to be more stable in Vista. In XP, I would have to run RMClock to set my voltage slightly higher to remain prime95 stable. This has not been the case with Vista. I have a biostar Tforce4U and Opty165@2.8ghz 1.4v.

nvidia nf4 raid not vista ready yet?

If you have 32-bit try this one If you have 64-bit try this one. I have tried both of these for nvraid sata on both builds, and was successful.
