How does Asus survive with such terrible RMA service?

I can't say I'm having much luck with Asus RMA's either. Sent a board back last month, finally got returned today and I'm greeted by a board that has a broken and tore copper trace/wire torn right out the PCB on the back and the VRMs are blown/budging/leaking too. Needless to say the board is...

    Can't overclock 6970

And exactly how is it way over normal? My 6970 easily runs in the high 80's under load, normally at 88-89C and under heavy GPGPU computing temps average ~95 easily. In the [H] review of the 6970 theres was at 89C under load too. Reason? AMD's heatsink design is a bag of shit.

Bioses edited by me in RBE = BSOD???

You can't edit clock speeds in the BIOS on 69XX cards. The RBE team have mentioned it a number of times over there. There is some kind of protection in the drivers which stops custom BIOSes with changed clock speeds from booting. You can changes voltage is believe, and do the 6950 to 6970...

I installed my processor in the wrong position

That is LGA1155. If you look at the top left corner you can see what appears to be the plastic notch snapped off and next to the pins in the socket itself. Some serious force must have been going on right there.

BIOS and Core Temp readings WAY off, and 90C under load!!??

I haven't found a way to lower my load Vcore without also lowering my idle vCore, but my 2600k happily runs at 1.6GHz @ 0.800v under idle so i'd say you may have some headroom to go lower.

Asus P8P67 Pro and UEFI booting

Hi all, I'm having a few problems with a new Sandybridge systems i'm putting together at the moment, mainly related to the hard drive and what seems a lack of UEFI boot support from the EFI BIOS. So far i've tried just about every google result to get windows 7 x64 to install in EFI mode with...

    4G 101

Since neither the current Wi-Max spec or LTE actually meet the requirements to be a 4G network at all it's all just a lot of hot air really.

How do new video cards play wow?

As people have made it clear in here, WoW is CPU limited. Getting a very highend GPU really won't give many gains here. WoW being CPU limited is something i was able to put to the test just a few days ago. My computer and a housemates sit next to each other. The GPUs are largely the same. I...

Brief loud screech from video card

I have exactly the same problem. Always had it ever since i got my 8800GTX 18 months ago, not it's not like it's dust or anything. The card makes no other unexpected sound when it's running, only a screech on shut down, exactly as you describe. I have an XFX 8800GTX with an Antec Truepower...

What do I need to upgrade in order to play WoW (BC/WotLK) Maxed?

And the shadows cause a massive drop in frame rate, which is the reason why people get low frame rates, it's not for any other reason and people do not need to reformat over it. The guy asked what he needs to have to run at full details. Not full details with the most demand features turned...

What do I need to upgrade in order to play WoW (BC/WotLK) Maxed?

WoW isn't as CPU limited as you might think. I run a rather old Athlon 64 X2 4400+ (@ 2.3GHz) with 4GB ram and a Geforce 8800GTX (621/1620/1026). I run WoW at 1920*1200 with all ingame settings at max and with 8x CSAA (transparency AA on multisampling). WotLK runs largely ok for me except...

Moving from the Red to the Green team: Need advice

Since nvidias AF has been at a level equal to, if not greater than ATI's HQAF for some time, it seems weird that you have issues. Make sure you have set the sewttings that on 'quality' to 'high quality' (can't for the life of me remember what setting this falls under now, but you'll find it...

Two G80's in SLI running 1GHz core...

The biggest problem i see with such a setup is the 256MB of video memory. That could be a real issue in any new game with high texture detail or once AA is turned on.

    ATI Radeon 3800 X 4 = Fyre Them Up!

SLI/Crossfire doesnt multiply memory though, even with 4 of them you'd only have 1GB of total usable video memory :p.

    Hellgate: London DX10 vs. DX9 Gaming Experience @ [H]

Good read, but could i ask why the 8800 GTX clock speeds are always listed as something random in these reviews. In the WIC DX10 review, the LOTOR DX10 review and now the HL DX10 the GTX is listed as 3 different clock speeds. Wouldn't it make sence to use a standard GTX or are you just listed it...
