Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm on an Acer Predator XB271HU currently and have it set to 144hz. Gsync is on, and Vsync was by app in the CP but now I've updated that to always on.
So, after inspecting the Qfan control in bios everything is set to standard. But after looking at the monitoring tab it appears as though...
Ok, well I limited the FPS in game in Valorant and it has stopped the behavior for now. Currently at 120fps limit there's no spike in fan speeds (before I was in the 240fps range unlimited). I had no idea those "wasted" FPS could be the cause. League of Legends runs in similar frames without...
I do have the stock fans on the case (2x 120 in front, 1x 120 in back).
Bios has been updated, I was slightly out of date.
Case is clean and fans are dust free, so airflow isn't the problem. Ambient temps aren't crazy either.
I've got AI Suite loaded now and ran through FanXpert. Node PSU Fan...
I built this system (https://pcpartpicker.com/user/danxor10/saved/vX6tJx) in December 2018. It worked great for a long time, but about a year ago started exhibiting some weird behavior with the fans.
Since the beginning, my GPU fans almost never turned on when playing most games. When they did...
I hope this isn't too off-topic as it contains a bunch of discussion about whole system hardware, but my main questions going forward are about the display(s) I will use with this system.
I'm planning to upgrade my current rig (in sig) with a new build:

Yeah, I don't doubt that. The idea with trying for a 1080 ti was to get this system back and running with a "future proofed" card that I could carry over to my next build. I do appreciate the input though. The thought of "how low can I go?" definitely entered my mind. 1050 seemed to low, 1070 ti...
Indeed. Managed to get a Zotac 1080 ti Mini through newegg yesterday. Not really ideal, but any 1080ti under $1000 to get me back and running seemed like a victory these days. This system is now in its 8th year (5th for this card), though it gets the job done for me at 1600p. So probably time to...
I'm cheap enough to try baking it, but I don't think I'm desperate enough to do it in my home oven... maybe I'll do it at work ;) That oven is never used, but does anyone know the potential health cocnerns? What's the half life on the residue/volatile compounds coming off a baked card?
For now...
Using afterburner I’ve observed that i’m crashing/hard locking at relatively low temps. 40-50C doesn’t seem like it’s really a heat issue, right?
I don’t know what else to look at/what to look for... anyone else have any thoughts? Or am I just banging my head at this point and my time would be...
Borrowed some tools and cracked 'er open. Really wasn't that dirty, but it does appear as though the thermal compound has failed. Lent my arctic silver and compound remover to my brother, so going to have to wait until the weekend to remove the old stuff and reapply new compound.

I appreciate the suggestion, I should mention that I cleaned and reseated the card after the driver swapping proved ineffective; doesn't seem to have made much of a difference. I'll look into this more thorough cleaning method when I get home.
