ASUS Rampage II X58 mATX ETA ...
Nice - when I go through that procedure my NIC and Sound cards don't work in windows at all and I have to reinstall drivers and clear the CMOS - so I'm RMA'ing the board back to ASUS...- d_crome

Rob - what happens to your system if you set your CPU volts to say 1.26 or 1.27? Does the system boot? Can you complete a stress test? Or does your system simply fail at boot? Would be nice to know as if I'm not giving the chip enough volts and yet it can pass a stress test, then that...- d_crome

I don't think my monitor would take a VGA cable, I think it's DVI only. Still not sure how that'd fix the problem - it's not a regular occurrence, maybe a 25% chance initially that it'd boot that way and then it slowly progresses to a 75% chance and THEN I start getting Network card failures...- d_crome

ASUS is giving me an opportunity to RMA the board. I'm doubtful that it's a case of limited CPU overclock as the volts I have the system at to achieve 4.0 are next to nothing over stock - WHEN the system boots I have zero issues, it just strikes early in the BIOS loading portion of the system...- d_crome

Not quite sure if anybody else is having this issue however I get a "cold boot" issue where the PC actually BOOTS into windows yet I have NO VGA - the monitor is blank with the "stand by" light still flickering - I hear the windows "chime" etc, so I know the system works fine - yet now VGA...- d_crome

PROBLEM SOLVED - was the d@mn ATi Audio Drivers that they don't include that you to go and sniff out on your own. Certainly sucked but it's fixed now. :)- d_crome

Ok - so far I've been loving the overclocking ability of this board, it's simply awesome. HOWEVER I'm encountering some VERY weird issues - namely to do with the "PCI Driver". EVERYTIME I boot into windows, XP tells me that it's found two (yes TWO) new PCI cards and wants to install...- d_crome

MATX X58 - ASUS Rampage II or EVGA X58 Micro??
Looking at jumping into an i7 setup. The ASUS originally took my eye, granted I'm not fussed over the mATX or ATX sized board, this is going in an Antec 900. Then I notice that EVGA have just released theirs. Which would be the better alternative? Price wise they're exactly the same...- d_crome

OK - conspiracy theroists asside - it is explicitly stated on the MS website: You can choose whether to use or disable features of Windows 7 that transfer personal information over the Internet. So my question still stands - how do you turn these features off?- d_crome

I just installed Windows 7 RC and I noticed the large print on the agreement stating that some privacy settings have been enabled such that information will be transmitted to Microsoft via the internet. They then state they can be turned off - however, MS being MS, they don't tell you HOW to...- d_crome

4850X2 & CCC
Must I have CCC installed to utilize the "Crossfire" of my X2 card or are the drivers alone enough? Since the upgrade to 9.3 - CCC takes a WHILE to boot up, and my system is @ 4.1 Ghz!- d_crome

ATI Catalyst 9.3 Released .....
Went from 9.2 to 9.3 with my 4850X2 - I had zero issues with 9.2, granted the "Alt+Tab" lag was killing me (Nvidia doesn't do that - so I had to adjust from my 8800GT). Now I'm getting system crashes with Company of Heroes and textures showing up that never had issues before....so I' going...- d_crome
