Thanks for the info everyone.
Now I'm just torn between the SG05 + ATX mod, or the Q08. The SG05 is significantly smaller (nicer for carrying), but also steel and plastic, and obviously holds less. The Q08 is larger, but holds more and has a very nice finish. I also love aluminum.
I think I...
Thanks for the info. I'd love to see those pictures if you get around to it. :)
Would the stock Intel cooler work fine? Trying to get away as cheap as possible for now.
I'll most likely be using an HX520, but I probably won't bother with an optical drive. Slim drives are expensive anyway.
Any links to the mod? Is it just drilling some holes for mounting it differently, is there some cutting or other modding involved? I can't seem to find any step-by-step...
But, if I got a DOA model from macmall, I'd STILL have to deal with HP. ;)
I'm still trying to decide whether to let them replace it with their standard advance replacement (refurb probably), replace it with a brand new one (up to 10-12 business days), or return it and get a U2410.
I've had a number of HP products over the years, and recently I've had several give me trouble. This brand new, DOA, ZR24w (which I really needed by the end of the week) is just icing on the cake.
With all of that said, what would you guys do? I could just get HP to do an advance replacement...
That would be much appreciated. :) I'd also love to know your thoughts on the SG05 with the ATX mod - in terms of how difficult it was, how it looks after (can you tell it was hacked up?), and how much extra space it takes up. The benefits of grabbing one of Corsair's modular PSUs, with the flat...
I have a mATX system running inside of a NZXT Rogue right now. I absolutely love the case for its features (5x120mm fans, can fit full-sized tower coolers, full ATX PSU, 5x3.5" hard drives, etc.), but there's no getting around the fact that it's big and heavy. The carrying strap it came with...
I just sold a 4:3, 19", TN panel monitor for nearly what I paid for it 5-6 years ago. So, I've decided to replace my current EA231WMi with a ZR24W, considering how cheap they are.
First, the ZR24W is a true 8-bit panel, correct? Last I heard, it was iffy as to whether or not the EA231WMi was...
Last Summer, I went to a local Micro Center to look at their processor deals. I didn't end up buying a processor, but I did stumble upon a nearly pristine Silverstone FT01-BW display model with no label or price tag on it.
I asked about it, and the employee went to get a manager to see if they...
I'm returning my Black Widow Ultimate. It's a decent keyboard overall, but I hate the Cherry MX Blues. Perhaps I press my keys far too hard, but I'm bottoming out almost every time. A few keys stick (leaving me turning left or strafing right after the key is let up, etc.), which drives me up a...
I own dozens of their products personally, and I've recommended dozens of others to friends and family. I deal with any RMAs for anyone if the need arises, hence the seemingly long list. Between me and my family / close friends, here's what we have off the top of my head, not including items...
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate, Deck Legend, and iOne Xarmor U9BL are the current offerings for mechanical + backlit. Deck probably has the best build quality, Razer has the best feature set (though no NKRO), and iOne is somewhere in between both.
I've always had great luck with Logitech. I've RMA'd:
A G9, whose wide grip started peeling and whose wheel was getting gummed up. I had originally just asked for the best way to clean it and somewhere to buy a new grip, but to my surprise, they said it sounded like a defective product and...
I just bought the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate. Should be here by Wednesday or Thursday. :D
Can't wait to try out my first mechanical in years. The last one I used was a Dell AT101W about ten years ago.
I'm kinda disappointed to hear it's only 2-key roll over, but what can you do. I like the...
