I'm still a huge fan of my XB270HU and thus the newer model XB271HU which adds HDMI in (for consoles) and also has 165Hz refresh rate. ULMB also works at 85, 100, 120Hz on that model as well. I'm waiting for OLED or the new 240Hz panels coming out early next year.
Wow...I currently have a perfect XB270HU but was thinking about getting the XB271HU to do both PC and consoles. That's really unfortunate but I will wait for a true upgrade a la OLED monitors or the just revealed 4K 144Hz Asus monitor.
Poor contrast, screen uniformity issues, relatively high input lag all for a 43 inch TV that costs $900. Spend the extra couple bucks and get the Vizio P50-C1
VIZIO - 50" Class (49.51" Diag.) - LED - 2160p - Smart - 4K Ultra HD Home Theater Display with High Dynamic Range - Black
I think Neutral is more accurate compared to Native on my 27xw. I might have that backwards but one of them is too cool and red. The other one is just about right. Contrast is best left alone at least for my unit. Use Lagom tests to check clipping. I think any increase in contrast created...
There are so few displays out there that meet those requirements unfortunately. I settled on the HP 27xw. It's pretty much perfect. Glossy, great color accuracy, fast pixel response and very low input lag. I got mine from Costco for $199 and there is a coupon to take $30 off in their ads...
Yup. I agree. Just my observations.
Sort of. There is a black level adjust that brings up the gamma from the black to medium levels. The Black adjustment on 3 I believe was best for mine and was pretty much a gamma of 2.22.
Check out the HP 25/27xw thread. I really like the HP 27xw I picked up from Costco. There is a coupon that starts tomorrow where the 27xw is $160. It has great out of the box color accuracy with the Neutral color setting. Make sure to turn AMA on, it's off by default. My only gripe is it's...
Lol good tips Daniel. I seem to be one step ahead of you again. I ONLY use my Xbox One controller via micro USB with no batteries in it to keep lag as low as possible. I'm giving real world observations based on my experience. On PC the lag @75Hz isn't noticeable, although I didn't do...
HP27xw has way faster pixel response compared to any VA panel. It's close to the XL2411z which is one of the fastest TN panels out there.
Another interesting note, I hooked it up to my PC and was able to overclock it effortlessly to 75Hz. I played a game of Battlefield 4 and didn't notice...
Man that was a lot of research! Nice! I have actually looked at all of that before I bought the monitor. I will research something until it's a dead horse. I would agree that based on measurements provided by NCX it would be basically lag free. I can tell you from experience vs the Benq...
I'm super sensitive to input lag. I usually play on the XB270HU @ 144Hz. That has basically 0ms input lag. XL2411z is equal or better in non ULMB @ 60Hz. I'm just comparing between the two. Just tried HDMI 2 and no difference. It's just enough to make aiming and prediction hard.
Picked up a HP27xw from Costco. Thanks Daniel_Chang! Initial impressions are great out of the box color temp and accuracy. Gamma also quite linear to 2.2 There is some input lag, noticeable compared to XL2411Z. I'll try the other HDMI input to see if there is any difference. Backlight...
