Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
did you install the 1942 patches ? when you installed 1942 did you install gamespy and punkbuster ? the multiplayer side must have them to run on most servers. recently reinstalled 1942 and had same errors, but mine turned out to be ram issue running with A64, set to auto config in BIOS and now...
looks too much like EQ II. I prefer games that are more comic like, not realistic, and especially ones that suck at being realistic. Just missing something, anyone else ?
Good taste ! words can do no justice to those bands, but sufice it to say, they blow away todays bands hands down. I have several LP but won't sell any, sorry. Original Beatles, Cream, Jeff Beck, LZ of course, stuff from early 60's through mid eighties when I switched over to CD. Good luck and...
of course Knoppix runs off the cd and not the hard drive, so you are comparing apples and oranges. The only thing that tells you is you have no huge cpu/motherboard/ram issue. That is good news. I would suspect the primary hard drive, use a diagnostic app from that drive manufacturer, they all...
ahhh, sorry. At first I read as having no money. In that case go to the local thrift store and get an old P II for $5, a monitor for another 5, and surf the net for almost nothing. Unlimited budget ? maybe spend 2 grand on a pc, and give the other 5 grand that folks would waste on stupid parts...
yeah I know what you mean, you ask them to bring all ther driver cd's and you get nothing. btw, VIA makes very good chipsets. I used to believe ALi was crap too, but then I tested an ASUS board that had one, the busmastering was the best of any socket 7 I ever saw. The 503+ was awesome, used a...
in order of worst offense to lesser offenses
touching the screen
shoving the monitor so someone can look at the screen. why not gently ?
failing to admit the spyware came from their doing
using IE
spraying the monitor by laughing with your mouth full of soda, yes it happened
not cleaning...
lithium, thanks for the reply. not trying to be a troll, but there are so many folks who say a computer is slow and blame this and that when it is usually the system itself that is at fault. you can have a fast motherboard / chipset/ cpu but a slow drive will make people scream that the computer...
yes you are entitled to your opinion. the more people debate and the more they demand fast cpu, the more I realize how little they know abut the actual cpu itself. how other parts of the computer affect over all speed. to blame a cpu for the computer being slow is simply not right.
there are...
all of the above cpu are perfectly capable. to call an A64 slow is ludicrous, to call an XP slow is goofy. they all run the apps of their day just fine, often it is the carbon based processors that are slow.
could be video card overheating but more likely the power supply, watch the voltage with a hardware monitor program. if it were cpu it would freeze or not boot at all, what is the highest temp you have seen ?
