Move fast. If you see something you like in stock then snag it quick. I just got done building a new rig. Stuff was going out of stock right in front of my eyes. I’d find something nice. After an hour or so of research it would be out of stock or it would be marked up a couple hundred percent...

Everything else was either not worth buying, not in stock, or had its price inflated 200%-300%

ARGH new cpu still and it still won’t post. MSI rep said to pull cmos battery for five minutes. I’ve already pulled the battery before but only for about a minute so now I’m doing that again.

I reseated it a third or fourth time. No good. All the pins are good and there’s no physical damage. I put in an RMA on Amazon and ordered a 3600x. It was only an extra 30 bucks.

I also see no bent pins, no burn marks, and no indication of physical external damage. Maybe I just got a dud?

When I first installed the cooler I had a hard time screwing it down. I could tighten two screws on one side but the screws on the other side wouldn’t reach the little posts sticking through. Is it possible to crush one edge of the cpu?

Yeah the red cpu light is coming on.

I pulled off the heat sink and the cpu came with it. nothing looked bent. I reseated the cpu but now trouble light is coming on.

Interesting turn of events...

I’ll try the cpu next

Es I can return pretty much everything still. I’ve only had my parts for about a week.

Pulled CMOS battery again as I never pulled it after the supposedly successful BIOS update. No change.
