Thanks for the article... but everything you say is in the realm of subjectivity. I know you hate canned benchmarks but until you (or someone else) can provide hard data that shows the benefits in actual framerates and pings I'm going to leave this one alone.

If you download the Yahoo version linked on the front page and extract the contents of the .EXE file you can just install IE7 without all the Yahoo addons. I tried it and it works great.

You do realise that at that resolution, running quad SLI may actually be slower than running a single GX2, right? The video power you have is MASSIVE overkill for the resolution so the overhead from the quad SLI actually slows it down. There was an article about it somewhere but I forget...

I have to agree with what others have said. There are 6 million subscribers to WoW and you hear about less than 1% of those. The media loves a beat-up, especially about computer games which seem to be the new evil they must attack. I doubt the average person finds it as addictive as is...

IMO the Conroe makes better sense in the long term. I don't think you'll notice a huge jump in speed in games either way but if you're planning on getting DX10 card(s) then it seems a waste to go from 7800GTX SLI to 7900GTX SLI now. Edit: Yeah, what StealthyFish said :)

Yeah if gaming was the only thing I did I would agree but as much as I do play games on it I also do other things which are far more cpu dependant.
