I ordered one will post some results when it arrives. I really don't care about the power it eats up. I would rather drive a Porsche over a Yaris as well even though it eats more gas.
Well I have install the SP1 on 2 vista ultimate x64 boxes, 2 vista home premium x64, 1 vista home premium x86 and a laptop running vista ultimate x86.
not one issue so far but network transfers have increased in speed
They were all AMD machines with AMD/ATi chipsets and video cards
I got hosed by the 40G IBM drives as well, I replaced them with WD80JB which also hosed me, but I have never had a problem with WD raptors and seagates so far
HAHA this thread reminds me, I had a M2N32 Sli deluxe Vista edition that died 6 months ago and I have not gotten it back yet. Asus confirmed that they got it but I never heard anything back.
I had a 6400 and upgraded to a Phenom 9600BE only running at 2.4 with the quad I am loving it, I notice a little more lag in some FPS but my HD playback and Video are much smoother. When I tried to encode a video with the Quad I was blown away took almost half the time. :D
It just depends...
I went from a G5 to a G9 and will not look back I love the built in memory that saves my profiles and the middle scroll wheel is easy to use as a button without accidental scrolling, I am currently using the wide grip.
The only issue is the LED does not change colors properly.
I found it kinda pointless, I priced out a AMD Dell once and it was almost $300 to upgrade a 3500 to a 5000+.
I dont think they were really trying to push them out the door.
The system is stable up to 2.4 then it just gives me BSOD's, I really like the mobo and know that a few more bios updates and it will be great!
I have gotten this ram up to almost 950mhz at 1.85v I am gonna try messing around with it more once the weekend comes around.
Well here are some screenshots,
This is before I made the change my X2 6400 BE this chip ran crazy hot and I had to keep the fan spinning at max all the time.
You can see the fan RPM and I was actually undervolting it.
Now here is the phenom at stock Vcore and the fan barely...
